Christmas Market Dream Route 1: Koblenz-Trier-Mainz (Wiesbaden)-Heidelberg

Historic Highlights of Germany has compiled this itinerary as the first leg of four regional tours of the country that will allow you to experience the best of its Christmas markets, cheerful atmosphere, and unique yuletide traditions. Be sure to peruse the other three regional Dream Routes, because portions of each can be connected for a customized experience. Or combine all four for a trip that will take you all the way around Germany with stops in 14 cities. This Dream Route explores the exciting region around the Rhine, Mosel and Neckar Rivers with visits to Koblenz, Trier, Mainz (with a side-trip to Wiesbaden) and Heidelberg.
In Dream Route 2, continue to southwestern Germany and the Black Forest and on through Bavaria as you visit Freiburg, Augsburg, Regensburg and Würzburg.
Dream Route 3 takes you north into former East Germany and the historic cities of Erfurt, Potsdam and Rostock.
Dream Route 4 finishes your circuit around Germany as you travel to the northern cities of Osnabrück and Münster before ending in Wiesbaden—just a short distance from where your journey began in Koblenz.
