Church of St. Aegidien

Church of St. Aegidien

The smallest of the five large churches in the old part of town, built in the 14th and 15th centuries, was barely destroyed in World War II, leaving the historical furnishings from the Baroque and the Renaissance periods intact. The highlights include the carved choir (1587) by Tönnies Evers the Younger as well as the Gothic wall paintings in the choir and in the spire hall.
