St. Peter's Church

St. Peter's Church

This Romanesque church, once three-nave, was built between 1227 and 1250. It was enlarged to a five-nave Gothic hall church in the 15th and 16th centuries. After the church was destroyed in the war, rebuilding efforts did not commence until 1958, so the pyramidal tower roof was not rebuilt until 1961. At an elevation of more than 150 feet, the view platform provides a magnificent panorama of Lübeck and surroundings.
