The ancient foundation of the Bürgerspital to the Holy Spirit dates back to the year 1319 and repre- sents the birthplace of the Bocksbeutel. The name of the Bürgerspital is inseparably tied to exquisite wines, which are stored in the historic cellar vaults. Tradition and most modern viticultural technology are combined to achieve highest quality.

Juliusspital-Weingut
The Juliusspital Winery is the main pillar of a social foundation created by Wurzburg's Princebishop Julius-Echter of Mespelbrunn in the year 1576. In the wine cellars or in the historic building of the Zehntscheune, guests can convince themselves of the renowned and unmistakable quality of the wines.

Staatlicher Hofkeller (Residenz)
The Staatlicher Hofkeller at the Würzburg Residenz is one of the most well-known large wine estates in Germany. Once owned by the Princebishops, its origin may be traced back to the early 12th century. Today, the Hofkeller produces mainly wines such as Riesling, Silvaner, Rieslaner, Spätburgunder (pinot noir), and Müller-Thurgau of Franconian top qualities and locations.
